Some of you may not know this guy by his name, but you'd know him if you saw his face. That's right, THIS is "Trooper Awesome". He's probably the best candidate for what I was looking for.
My original intent was to give Old Republic a "Booming Voice" that only worked on non-unique ranged allies. I then changed it to Soldier and Trooper allies only, but the wording was ridiculous and overly wordy. I instead created 'Receive Orders', all the benefits of 'Booming Voice', but only the character who has it will actually gain the commander effects.
I also originally intended him to allow any non-unique Trooper or Soldier on your squad, regardless of faction. I took that away, because I didn't think it would be fair for Old Republic to rely so heavily on other factions. In fact, Jace would probably be the only OR figure on your squad; excluding OR and Fringe, there are over 70 trooper and soldier figures. I decided to drop it for that reason and because he was now over 65 points.
I think 50 points is ideal for him, because he's strong on his own and building a team around his commander effect could prove dangerous. Having him cost 1/3 of your total in 150 seems fair.
