Rather than thumbing through each of the virtual sets to pick and choose what figures we will allow and disallow, it was suggested by Nevin that we instead make our own figures.
Here are some rules that we should discuss first:
-Before your figure is allowed, it MUST BE agreed upon by everyone involved in SWM. The figure must be costed correctly, it must be fair, balanced, and practical. Look to the official Wizard of the Coast figures for balance and remember that power-creep is inevitable and not something you should seek out voluntarily.
-The figure should help to fill a void *giggity* for the faction. And I don't mean their should be perfectly balanced, similarities between all factions (IE. A Vong version of General Dodonna) because each faction will handle things like tempo control, door control, and other support differently.
-And I personally think that we should OFFICIALLY allow our approved figures only after we have enough for a set. I'm not suggestion we draw out the skeleton for an entire set of 50 to 60 figures; that's too time consuming and we'd never get to play. I'm thinking more along the lines of every 10 to 20 approved figures are bunched together into a set. We'll each have an equal amount of figures in each set as well so that everyone gets to participate. Since we'll be helping one another by giving constructive criticism and feedback, I don't think this will be difficult to do.
Remember this forum? We have a nice bunch of minis that we've already made sitting there, so we can look through these first. There are also formulas there pertaining to accurately costing your figures. I've opened up the entire forum, so you don't even need to login to look at the figures. I'll create a sub-forum here just for Star Wars Minis so we can keep the discussion in a single place.
I'm looking forward to seeing what we're all capable of,
